charlz_lynnI just finished the second week of my three week teaching assignment. The pace of this class is absolutely ridiculous, and even some of the smartest kids, for whom I imagine school is usually quite easy, are really struggling. I feel for them. And for me. Shit. It's so much work - 6 contact hours per day, almost 100 things to grade each day before the next morning, so many panicked student emails... but God damn the money is good! I'll be set for the summer after this.
I leave for Michigan two weeks from today. It's getting hard to not be in total preparation mode, but there's just not time for that anyway. So I ordered some things from the internet, I have a list and a small pile accumulating in a corner of the linen closet, and I'm feeling the pull. Strong. I'm so eager to be on that land, working with my body, sweaty-hugging my dearest and oldest friends, putting this thing to bed. Ready.
