No, I didn't find a job. exactly...

Well, remember how much I love being a housewife? And remember how I said I wished there was a way to be a stay-at-home parent AND single? And 'member how I sometimes write stuff and sometimes it ain't half bad? Well, my ma wants me to get paid to write. And she wants to support me while I attempt to do that. She said she really would much rather that than I get some job cleaning a hellhole for some asshole at eight bucks an hour.

SO, my new job is writing and getting published.

I know. It feels a little crazy and scary to me, too, but she believes in me. And sometimes I wonder if it's not only because she's my mother and she has to. It's also a crazy amount of privilege that I feel uneasy with, so I'm gonna have to do some work to accept it.

There's so much more to say about this, but... I'm gonna go grocery shopping instead. Also, if any of you have any advice on getting published, please pass it along.

there's not much money in it as far as i know. even a whole book. i've put pieces in anthologies here and there. never got more than $100 for it. sometimes you get to read @ bookstores. seems you might do better making a living as a writer in canada.

i guess it depends on what you write, tho. and yr ma is rad. totes. yesss!!!

Thank you so much, ps, for the tips. I was hoping to ask you a question or two, and this is a really great start.
I'm just gonna try it out. I do really love writing, and I'll see if i love it enough to try and make it my career really. This is a huge huge blessing, to have my mom offer this and be in a position to do it. I can hardly believe my luck right now.
