are you in Provincetown or Providence? I missed which one. But if you're in the former, you might check out the dyke inn. I forget the name, but my friend worked there as a chef and really loved it. You get room and board + pay and some vacation, and they have certain times that require more staff than usual during the summer, so they'd probably hire you for til you head to Michigan.
