I can't remember the last time i went this long without having a moment to myself. Being so sick/unwell for those three-four weeks put me so far behind. I've been scrambling nonstop for the last many days. NONSTOP. Today, I had to get all ready for Oliver's day, get all his food and clothing and every other little thing ready for morning to bedtime before leaving the house at 9. I was trying to get him into his jacket and he was being so difficult - very unlike him - and I just stopped and gave him a speech. I barely had time to brush my teeth or even rearrange a single hair on my head, and he was fighting with me about his jacket! I told him all about it. He smiled and calmed down.

I just took a practice midterm for chemistry. The real deal is tomorrow. I did fairly well, too. I am hoping, after missing so many lectures, to get a c in the class. And if i get a C on the exam tomorrow I'll be happy. Much happier with a b though.

Last week I turned in a piece of shit essay for History and the Environment, my online class. I attached a note saying something along the lines of "Thanks again for the generous extension, sorry this essay is not up to par." He just wrote me telling me how good it is, only lacking in enough evidence, and gave me a solid B. Sweeeet. It makes me think about what he must be reading from my classmates. What I'm reading from my classmates is about 70% nightmare.

I dunno why I'm spending time babbling on here. Had to get my face out of my calculator for a minute. And I miss you folks. Okay. Off I go.

Think of how much more mature you are than your classmates. Even if you are of similar intelligence (and you are probably smarter anyway), most of them are turning in crap they made up after a weekend of drinking. You have almost a decade more of life experience, and if you're tired, it's because you've been caring for Oliver, not partying. I took a few undergrad classes in my early thirties after I'd already worked for a lot of years and had a year of grad school, and I could not believe how ridiculous the majority of my classmates were. It made me wish I could have gone to school somewhere with serious students, because even though I worked hard, there were a lot of unserious students around me when I was an undergrad and I would have really enjoyed going somewhere where that was less the case.

Miss you, too. Glad you took a moment away from your calculator to share.

Love you. You are all kinds of awesome!
