Sailors and a Brute

I just got home from school and I am tired and starving. But I keep putting off writing about the cafe, and I think I need to at least post some short things about it.
Namely, that it was amazing! I had a great time, I think my guests had a great time. I felt so loved and appreciated and seriously supported in all ways. I think the food was amazing, if I do say so myself. Margot made this amazing vegan stew and I made TONS of clam chowder and corn bread and had a salad bar that included candied bacon and maple balsamic vinaigrette. YUM! And all that was left of the chowder was 2 small jars after sending 3 jars away.
I didn't make that much money, but it wasn't really ever about the money.
I'm just so happy. I love my giant family, and I think every day about how incredibly blessed I am to have such an amazing community behind me, in front of me, around me, in my heart...
I'm really happy The Brute was here... she and my people hanging out was great, especially when she,z, and ree had this 1980's Southern California growing-up-time bonding. My god. Thi morning I think we decided to drive across the country together. She's planning on being at Martha's Vineyard when I'm in Ptown dropping off some stuff 'on the way' to Michigan. So. Funny, that.
Alright. There's some sort of food upstairs with my name on it, I just know it.
