Well, lets see if I can explain it well.... i is the symbol of imaginary numbers. You use it, most commonly, when taking the square root of negative numbers... And pi is an irrational number in that it can't be expressed as a fraction. It rounds to about 3.14, but looks more like 3.14159265359 it's really important in working with circles. It was discovered by the ancient Greeks. that was fun, thanks! :)
