moving in... sort of... finally...
Oct. 1st, 2009 03:30 pmI just moved into my dresser. Out of my duffel bags and suitcases. Out of which I have been living since Michigan. My tent was the last place I was settled. I'm slowly getting settled in here. I'll post pictures once it's finished.
Still to do: baseboards, closet, light fixture.
Still needed: bed frame (which is coming from TT, along w/ boxspring), shelves -- the kind that hang on the wall... other small stuff before it's baby time.
I wish I just had money to spend on shelves. They're five bucks a piece from ikea. Instead I'm gonna try and find wood tomorrow, which is totally doable and fine. I just don't want any more projects. I don't wanna have to sand and prime and paint anything. I wanna go to ikea, spend sixty bucks, and screw some shit together and be done with it. Whine. It's so close... It's all felt so close for months. One really great thing is with my dresser and mattress on the floor I finally get to do a little bit of nesting. Sure, everything but clothing is still in boxes, but I don't have to dig through a duffel bag anymore.
The thing about getting the dresser yesterday was that I emptied out my car. Which has had half of my belongings in it since before Michigan. So, that stuff is now on the porch waiting for a home, and my car is driving so much better. I lifted a box I should not have and that hurt, but most of the stuff was light because it was last minute shit badly thrown together.
Ramble ramble. I'm gonna go keep working on litle projects. Z is coming over this evening to help me sort through Oliver's things and to make the big grand list of shit I need and the party invitation and stuff. Oh boy oh boy. It will be a HUGE help having someone here keeping me focused. I'm so tired and overwhelmed lately, everything feels like a million times more work than it really is.
