busy weekend

Mara's birthday was yesterday, and she graduates with her Master's tomorrow. Her whole famdamily is in town, and there are lots of celebrations. Last night, amazing dinner at a southern food restaurant. FUCKING DELICIOUS. Then a going-away gathering for two of her best friends who are moving to Philly. Then home. Up this morning to go back and get my car, thinking I would come right home. That was 8:30am. I just got home at 11:30pm. I decided to go maternity clothes shopping. First at Target -- one shirt. Ugh. Then Mara suggested I come downtown with them, where she could drop me at Old Navy. I got 5 beaters on sale for 2 bucks each - 3 black 2 brown, and a cute plaid shirt. While looking for her shirt for tomorrow we went to a million other department stores, and by the time we got back to her place, family was arriving for the party of the day. I made a beer/soda/odds and ends run... then socialized for a veeeeerrrry looooong tiiiime.
Tomorrow, there's a huge party after graduation. I'm going to head back to her place and start cooking and cleaning as soon as the ceremony is over. I'm exicited. Grilling. Surprise guest. Friends. Her family. Fun fun fun.

I am exhausted already, and overwhelmed with everything I have to do before I leave in 2 weeks. But this weekend is about fun and celebrating Mara and her huge accomplishment. I'm just so happy to be her friend and get to be along for this ride.
