language
I keep catching myself. In conversations, I keep slipping into this language that is not really my own. It's more academic. I guess that's what school does to you. Weird.
I added the advanced creative writing course to my school load next term. Yes, it's silly. Means more expensive. Another book. More credits. More time. But I need a creative outlet with some guidelines and deadlines. And I have to be at school all five weekdays, anyway. I might as well use the time, since it's what is filling up the whole day.
I think I might try and tutor writing next term, too. Right now all their tutors are instructors in the learning center, which strikes me as odd. And I have the technical stuff down. I could certainly tutor writing 60-121 students... I have to find out more about it. If not, maybe I can find another literacy program with elementary level kids, closer to home this time, and volunteer with them. I'm not going to tutor adults for free, though.
When I have a home that is mine, I will have a comfy chair in my bedroom. And a space to study at home, not in a coffee shop. And there will be shelf space where I can store the food that I will can on the stove top. And there will never ever be a smelly boy towel on my bathroom floor for over a week. Ever.
What? A girl's gotta have dreams.
Goodnight.
