this might contain TMI

No sugar, and not carbs (wheat, potatoes, chips, breads, sweets, fruits, cola) will help a lot. Eat yoghurt like a madwoman.

I often get what I call a "borderline yeast infection" which is just inflamation and itchiness without any other 'typical' yeast infection symtoms. If it's too itchy or burny, it helps if you pee on yourself whenever you need to pee. My technique is to cup my hand over mu vulva while peeing, so the pee swooshes over my whole labial area before rushing into the toilet. Have a handful of TP on hand! It really really helps neutralise the discomfort. Since urine is serile (unless you have a bladder infection) it is totally safe.

I also find that pau d'arco tea is helpful cause it's a funcicidal tea. Drink 2-4 cups a day, and don't drink more than 1 cup at a time cause it could have laxative efefcts. However, it's considered in some literature to be an abortificant, so don't use it if you're already trying to get pregnant.
You can also douche / splash with that tea to heal the infection.

If you have acidophilus capsules, put one inside your vag as high up as you can. Do this once a day or so. They might eventually kind of melt out, or they might disappear completely. Just don't be surprised if a half a mushy capsule comes out at some point.

Goldenseal douches work really well, too, but the herb is strong and shouldn't be used for more than a week and make sure to follow up with acidophilus inserts.

You can combine all of the above.
