hi there,

i just wanted to share a thing that i've learned from my acupuncturist in recent times due to disc herniation and the accompanying sciatic nerve pain:

it would make sense that this would be flaring up, because a non-pregnant person who is approaching their 'special womanly time" (aka your period) - pain usually flares up because your body heats up before your period and it sets off areas susceptible to inflammation. even though you're preggo - i imagine that there's SO much going on in your entire body, esp. around your lower trunk that it's heating up, hormones raging, etc and sets off your sciatic nerve. i'm no dr. but this just makes sense to me.

i would suggest lots of things that help reduce inflammation like leafy greens (kale, chard, watercress (realizing this may be difficult) papaya, berries, pumpkin seeds, sesame seeds, apples, and of course turmeric and ginger)

hugs,
swifty
