1. I get to know what's going on in your life that way.
2. Poetry and politics and polyester-blend pants.
3. You're completely honest. And you have a wonderful voice.
4. The bonfire. My god.
5. Well, it's like your question to me: Does the teen ever come at you with homophobia? Does she express a wish/want/need for normalcy?
6. VPL and another question: is that your ass??

what is VPL? and no, it's not my ass. i was visiting shawna and billy in austin for halloween 2003 and billions and i were at a thrift store when i spotted mrs. 3way wedgie. i was fascinated and stalked her to attempt a photo. when we were leaving, i spotted her leaning up against that truck, so i made bb do a very slow drive by so i could get the shot. i know, it's so sick and wrong!

I was hoping not, but you never know what people will look like in a costume.

we are truly blessed in this regard. her not being the least bit homophobic is due to a lot of things, i think. first, i never suffered from any internalized homo hatred and no one in our immediate family displayed any overt weirdness. the only uptight people we encountered were my (female) ex's parents, and fortunately, we didn't spend much time with them. we had the distinct privilege of being able to surround ourselves with all kinds of family for holidays, celebrations and performances.

my personal motto has always been 'if there's nothing wrong with it, then there's nothing wrong with it'.
